The DTaP vaccine protects children under the age of 7 against three bacteria illnesses: tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough).

What to expect at your visit

1 Sign in at the kiosk to see a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. No appointment necessary.
2 Review the Vaccine Information Sheet.
3We will administer the vaccine.
4 We will give you a visit summary and send it to your primary care provider at your request.

What to know before your visit

  • This service is not available in Connecticut.
  • MinuteClinic practitioners treat children 18 months and older, and can provide the recommended vaccinations at 18 months and 4 - 6 years. First doses, which are given at 2, 4 and 6 months of age, are not available at MinuteClinic.
  • Patients with a history of allergy or adverse reactions to the vaccine may be referred to another care setting.
  • We recommend that patients remain in the clinic waiting area for 20 minutes after receiving vaccinations to ensure there are no adverse reactions. Our practitioners are trained to respond to anaphylactic reactions.
