Shingles is a rash caused by the virus herpes zoster. This is the same virus that causes chickenpox. Stop by MinuteClinic to have a nurse practitioner examine your rash and provide treatment with either over the counter or prescription medication.
What to expect at your visit
1Sign in at the electronic kiosk to see a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. No appointment necessary.
2We will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, conduct an examination of the affected area and provide you with a customized treatment plan.
3We will give you a visit summary and send it to your primary care provider at your request.

What to know before your visit
Patients with the following conditions may be referred to another care setting:
- Fever
- Redness or swelling
- Blisters around the eye or nose
- Stiff neck, decrease in vision, confusion or unusual drowsiness
- Vomiting
- Seizures
