Also known as whooping cough, pertussis is a contagious respiratory disease that can cause serious illness, especially in infants too young to be fully vaccinated.

Several states have reported increases in pertussis cases, with California experiencing a statewide epidemic.

Why your family should get vaccinated.

The best treatment is prevention. Many infants are infected by parents, older siblings and other caregivers who don’t realize they have pertussis. And even if older family members were vaccinated as infants, they need a booster to be fully protected because the vaccine fades over time.

What the CDC recommends.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued the following guidelines:

How we can help.

In addition, we recommend that those over 18 should get a booster vaccination immediately if they haven’t received one and/or have contact with infants.

We can administer infants their fourth DTaP dose at 18 months and the fifth dose at 6 to 7 years, and we can give first-time and booster Tdap vaccinations to older children and adults.

Just walk in 7 days a week.

Getting your family vaccinated is easy. No appointment is necessary and we’re open on evenings and weekends.
