• Wound edges are closed
• Dried scab
• Slight pinkness at wound edges and around where sutures or staples enter the skin

Patient will be referred to primary care provider if:

• Wound is not healing
• Sutures or staples are from a surgery
• Sutures or staples were done by a specialist such as plastic surgeon
• Sutures or staples are on the face or in the mouth
• Have an immunocompromised condition
