Common Signs and Symptoms:
Definitive diagnosis done by Mono Spot test.
Fever
Sore throat
Loss of appetite
Fatigue
Swollen glands
Enlarged spleen or liver
Occasional jaundice (yellow discoloration of the skin and eyes)
Referrals:
Patient will be referred to primary care provider if:
Mono spot test is positive
Unable to swallow secretions or keep fluids down
Complains of severe abdominal pain
Appearance of jaundice
Ill for greater than 4 weeks
Have an immunocompromised condition
