Bronchitis (ages 10-65)

Common Signs and Symptoms:
  • An irritating, frequent cough with or without phlegm (duration: one to two weeks)
  • Sore throat or sinus symptoms may accompany the cough
Referrals:

Patient will be referred to primary care provider if:

  • Temperature over 103
  • Your cough has lasted longer than three weeks
  • You are under 10 years old
  • You are 65 years old or older
  • You have a history of asthma or other lung disease or heart disease
  • You are having difficulty breathing / shortness of breath
  • You are wheezing / have chest tightness
  • You have a stiff neck
  • You have had a recent exposure to dust, chemicals, or smoke
  • You have an immunocompromised condition
