Employee Referral Bonus Program 2008

Full Program Details – Participation and Eligibility Guidelines

MinuteClinic recognizes that many of the new and most promising additions to our team are referred to MinuteClinic by current employees. That is why, effective March 1st, 2008, we are starting a new program to reward those employees who encourage their friends and colleagues to apply. We even encourage employment applicants to participate!

Payout Dates: Once the referring and referred employees have both reached their 30 day anniversaries, a $250 bonus will be paid to the referring employee. After both employees’ have been employed for 6 months the remainder of the bonus will be paid based on the referral’s employment status (FT, RPT or CPT) at 6 months of employment.

Payout after 30 days of employment Payout after 6 months of employment Total Bonus
Full Time Referrals $250 $1250 $1500
Regular Part Time Referrals $250 $750 $1000
Casual Part Time Referrals $250 $750 $1000

How to refer a friend or colleague:
In addition to these two simple steps, please also carefully read the participation guidelines and FAQs below.
  1. Referring party: The person making the referral must send an email to referral@minuteclinic.com with the name and contact information of the person they are referring.
  2. Referred applicant: The person being referred must list the name of the referring party when prompted in their online application.
Both of the above steps must be completed before the referral’s first day of employment with MinuteClinic in order to qualify for the referral bonus.

ERP Frequently asked Questions:
Q. I just encouraged my friend to apply for a position with MinuteClinic, but I think that she has actually worked for us before. Will this qualify for participation in the Employee Referral Program?
A. As long as your friend hasn’t worked for MinuteClinic in the past 6 months, that referral WILL qualify for the bonus if you follow the steps above and he or she is hired.

Q. I just applied for a position with MinuteClinic. I am so excited about the opportunity that I would like to tell a friend of mine to apply as well. Even though I’m not yet employed by MinuteClinic, can I still participate in the Employee Referral Program?
A. Yes! Even if you are not yet an employee, you can still refer your friends by following the two steps outlined above. Then, if both of you are hired and become MinuteClinic employees, you will receive the first part of your bonus when you have both reached your 30th day of employment and the second part when you have both reached your 6th month of employment.

Q. I recently told someone about a position with MinuteClinic and it turns out that they were just hired. I think they put my name on their application but I didn’t email referral@minuteclinic.com to let them know about my referral before she started. Can I still get the bonus?
A. Unfortunately, because we are offering this program to all MinuteClinic employees nationwide, we must remain consistent in how we run the program from market to market and position to position. Therefore, we can only pay referral bonuses for those who have completed both steps of the process.

Q. I referred someone on February 27th, the week before the new ERP went into effect. Because it was so close to March 1st, will that referral be included for participation in the new program with the new bonus amounts?
A. Unfortunately, for program consistency and accuracy, we can only include referrals made on or after March 1st, 2008, in the new program. Referrals made before that date will be included in the previous program.

Please read and take note of these important participation guidelines:
  • All employees are eligible except for Directors, Vice Presidents, Officers and Regional and Corporate Recruitment Managers. Managers may not receive a bonus for hires made within their own department or market.
  • Referrals from applicants are welcomed and encouraged, however, bonuses for those referrals will only be paid to referrers once they have been employed by MinuteClinic for a minimum of 30 days.
  • This program is designed for external hires only and does not apply to internal applicants.
  • All referral bonuses are considered taxable income and will be subject to tax withholding.
  • Both the referrer and the referral must be employed by MinuteClinic at the time of payout.
  • In order to be eligible for the referral bonus, you must refer applicants who have not worked for or had a work relationship (temp, contractor, preceptor, etc.) with MinuteClinic in the past 6 months.
  • If a candidate is referred by more than one employee and all referrers are listed on the application, the referral bonus will be split between employees.
  • The Human Resources Department has the authority to make final decisions on any matter concerning program rules including bonus eligibility.
  • Awards will not be given to any employee who has not emailed their referral’s information by the date that their referral begins employment with MinuteClinic.
  • The employee referral bonus program may be amended or discontinued at any time based on the sole discretion of management.
  • If a referring employee is on a Leave of Absence at the time of either bonus payout, the date of payout will be postponed until the employee returns from LOA.
  • Referral bonuses will no longer be honored at 50% of the bonus if only one step is completed – both steps in the process MUST be completed before the referral is hired in order to qualify.
  • Referrals made prior to March 1st, 2008 will follow previous program guidelines and bonuses.
